Why focus starts before the work

Attention rarely disappears all at once. It is redirected by small cues around you: an open tab, a notification, or the expectation that something new has arrived.

Insight

Good focus often begins as environmental design, not exceptional self-discipline.

Try This
  • Choose one task and write its next physical action on a note.
  • Turn on Do Not Disturb, place the note beside you, and work for 15 minutes.

Focus is shaped before the work begins.

Attention rarely disappears all at once. It is redirected by small cues: an open tab, a notification, or the expectation that something new may have arrived.

The most reliable way to protect deep work is to change the environment first before relying on willpower. Make distraction slightly harder to reach.

Good focus is often environmental design disguised as self-discipline.

Before your next work session, remove one cue that usually pulls your attention away.

Check what really stuck

Short, well-timed questions turn recognition into recall, so you know what you understand and what deserves another look.

Reading that keeps you engaged

So glad an app like this exists. As someone who struggles with reading and retaining information, I appreciate the 15 minutes a day approach. I already feel like I’m learning a lot and the quiz at the beginning really helped me determine where I struggle the most. I love how personalized the learning plans are and also the cute mascot!

I opened it for one lesson and somehow ended up with a whole week of things I wanted to try.

I asked Witsy to build lessons around challenges in my work life, including how to make the case for a promotion. It helped me prepare for better conversations, communicate my impact clearly, and take a much more intentional approach to growing my career.

It doesn’t throw books at me. It builds a learning sequence that makes sense.

Fifteen minutes sounds small until the ideas start showing up in your work.

The lessons feel genuinely high quality. They cut through the filler, boil each topic down to the point, and still give me enough context to understand why the idea matters.

The feedback at the end of each chapter is what makes Witsy click for me. It connects the new idea to what I learned earlier, so the whole topic starts forming one clear picture instead of a pile of isolated notes.

The learning plans make a goal feel real instead of aspirational. The quizzes show me what is sticking, and the daily actions give me one concrete step to take. Little by little, I feel like I am growing into the person I wanted to become when I set the goal.

Easy to stick with

Short enough to finish, thoughtful enough to be useful.

Why Witsy exists.

I built Witsy because access to information is no longer the problem—turning it into lasting change is. Books, podcasts, and long-form videos contain ideas that can help us become who we want to be. But the sheer volume makes it harder to choose what matters, stay focused, and remember enough to act on it.

As a software engineer with ADHD, I wanted learning to meet people where they are. Witsy preserves the depth of great sources while turning them into focused lessons, connecting ideas to real life, and helping them stick. The mission is to give anyone, regardless of their circumstances, a clear and personal path toward becoming the person they want to be.
